The electric power steering system(ESP)is an advanced automotive power steering system which coming recently.Compared with the traditional mechanical hydraulic steering system and power steering system,it has a lot of advantage such as saving energy,protecting our environment,reducing weight and easy to explant. Because of its simple structure,flexible layout and many other advantages,it has become a kind of technic in power steering system which is widely used nowadays.The development of computer technology and the coming of virtual modeling technology provide a new way to shorten the development cycle,reduce product development costs,and optimize product design's in this article,we make the simulation on the steering system and the whole vehicle by using the multi-rigid-body dynamics simulation software which is widely used in the world nowadays.We make in-depth study and analysis on the vehicle handing performance and control-optimization. And finally we make evaluation and improvement on the result of the simulation based on the study of the simulation.The thesis includes six chapters:In chapter one,it firstly introduce the history of power steering systems,also including the advantages and disadvantages of the structure.The thesis focuses mainly on the structure of the principle,as well as the as well as the classification and study of the situation home and abroad.So the main types of capacity and the starting point were described.In chapter two,introduced the research methods-by using multi-body system dynamics theory to built the virtual model.Dynamics simulation software and the system control simulation software were also introduced.The third chapter is devoted to modeling the process of this article.That is described the simplification and assumptions in detail.Modeling methods of various subsystems and vehicle assembly were introduced too.In chapter four,we focusing on the modeling process of electric power steering system,and the control interface setting by the use of the modeling process of the control module in Adams and Matlab/simulink.On this basis we introduce the realization of co-simulation methods.Introduce the concept and the classification of steering curve.To ascertain the powering curve we used in this thesis.The building process of control-model in Matlab/simulink.Aslo simulation was employed to verify the co-simulation model achieved the basic functions of power characteristic curve.In chapter five,introduced the simulation and conclusion of research on the affection to handling and stability of EPS and some parameters when the car reaches the adhesion limit.And at last the influence caused by the control-strategy were analyzed.In chapter six,the main work of this thesis was summed up,and introduced the shortcomings of thesis and the prospects of the future work..
