Reaserch Of Material Language In Modern Architectural Skin

This study should be a research for concrete applied method that basing on theoretical research. According to the four steps such as introducing a question, analyzing the question , solving the question , coming to a conclusion, this study developed the applied design research for material language in modern architectural skin, that taking the architectural art expression as starting point for estimating and researching.The first chapter introduction suggested the problem existing in present social development and architectural design, from three aspects as research object, research background and research target. Subsequently, it brought out the two research objects-material language and architectural skin. They were also the two important developing clues of the study. Through the definition of the two research objects, the research method and the technological courses were established, while the research frame was settled up contemporarily. This is the part of introducing the problem.The second and third chapters are the part of cognition process for the two research objects. Therefore, the second chapter trimmed and summed up the interrelated characteristics of architectural skin, including the reannotation for the definition of architectural skin, historical development process, influencing factors and future creation trend. And the third chapter trimmed and summed up the interrelated characteristics of architectural material, including the definitions, classifications, attributes and the optical characteristics , then analyzed its art expression in architectural skin, concluded the basic applied principal, content and method. Both the two chapters are the development of the first chapter introduction, and they are also the two coordinate clues of the study.The forth and fifth chapters are the part of derivation process for the design strategy, according to differentiation and integration. In the forth chapter, author answered the question"how to apply material"according to the material basic optical characteristics as shape, color and texture. In the fifth chapter, author assembled the skin with other architecture elements together, including space, environment and structure. At last, the conclusion was achieved in the last chapter that the material language in architectural skin should be an effective and feasible design method.
