In recent decades, the application of tall building with high-level transfer storyare increasing sharply, but the seismic behavior of the structure is relative poor due tothe distribution of the lateral components along vertical direction is not continuousand the vertical stiffness is not uniform. Supplemental stiffness and Supplementaldamping provided by energy dissipated devices can change the dynamiccharacteristics of the structure and thus the dynamic responses of the structure areeffectively reduced. Consequently, The high-level transfer structure with energydissipated devices is researched in detailed in the paper and the main contents are asfollow:(1) Restoring-force model of displacement-dependent energy dissipated devicesis researched and hysteretic behavior of lead viscoelastic damper is simulated withBouc-wen model;(2) Base on the research results of other authors, Analysis and design method ofthe high-level transfer structure with energy dissipated devices is studied, includingelastic analysis method for frequently occurred earthquake and elastic-plastic analysismethod for seldom occurred earthquake, stress distribution of the slab and shear wallin the transfer floor of the new system under seldom occurred earthquake is alsoanalyzed;(3) By means of the theoretic researches on static nonlinear analysis method ofthe new system, a simplified computing method for calculating equivalent dampingratio is proposed based on the restoring property of the displacement-dependentenergy dissipated device, which utilized the Plastic(wen) model in SAP2000 program;(4) According to the characteristics of design method of expected damping ratioof structure equipped with energy dissipated devices, expected damping designprocedure of the new system equipped with lead viscoelastic damper is established inthe paper;(5) Actual performance of the high-level transfer structure with energy dissipateddevice is checked by analyzing a practical engineering structure.
