Water flow movement is a complicated natural phemomena. So far, various kinds of situation and regularity of development of them can't be well mastered .Engineers usually apply to the method of mathematics analysis and exoeriemce formula when designing the hydraulic buildings. But they both have certain limitation. For instant, in order to derive the theory equation, we need to add some assumptions and often omit subsidiary facts. Although application experience formula is rabidity, its coefficient has certain service condition and range to limit its scope of application .In fact, the border condition of hydraulic buildings in the nature river has nothing in common with each other and very complicated. In recent decades, the new experiment technology and application of computer at automatically gathering data and dealting with are developed quickly. The trend that experiment hydraulics and theory hydrodynamics merge is obvious day by day too. Make some experimental projects and case can be solved with the aid of the mathematical model. At present, dimension yuan water flow questions of some complicated border are studying and calculating with the mathematical model. So, we think that the model experiment of hydraulics building is combined with mathematical model that is a present research way. In this text, about the theory and practice of our country empty stomach gravity dam and the hydraulic buildings at shanggou are studied .that is followed:(1), The analysis of model experiment of the shanggou dam. According to the model experiment, drainage capability, characteristic of air cross and anti-wash, water surface line on weir and spur quality to the shanggou dam are systematically studied.(2) , Adopt the way that the model experiment is combined with the number value analysis to analyse the stress of shanggou dam.(3) , According to the result of the model experiment and the number value analysis actability and advisability of the former design of the shanggou dam is verified, and the malificated plan is presented, meanwhile, the body of dam is optimized .The outcome in this text, not only can offer the basis to design and constriction of the shanggou dam but also the useful supplement to theory and practice of our country empty stomach gravity dam. So it takes on important theory and practice referential value.
