Composite slabs with light-weight concrete is a new one of composite structure, which develops from the composite slabs with plain concrete. They have good bearing capacity and remarkable economic efficiency. They have the characters of composite slabs with plain concrete , such as small dead load, better ductility, large overall horizontal rigidity, fast construction speed, less templates, less cost etc. Also it makes full use of the material character which steel is good at tension and concrete is good at compression, its rigidity and ductility and its anti-seismic capability is very good, it can be in ease of construction and reducing installation time, it also can make good economic returns etc. So it will be adapted increasingly. At present, the research on composite slabs with light-weight concrete is relatively poor, only little report on this. Furthermore there is not clear in our building code in designing of composite slab. Because its application and study is late in our country, and capability is not understood. So it is imminent to its research. This article researched on flexure performance of composite slabs which light-weight concrete in view of this problem. We made six pieces of composite slabs with YX-76-344-688 steel deck in real size which was under the loads distributed in two point load with simple support, and studied the structural property and researched on the bearing and deforming capability. In the test, we observed the crack generated and developed, we also measured the strain of steel and light-weight concrete, the ultimate bearing capacity, the mid-span deflection, the quarter-span deflection. We analyzed the experiment result and main factor (steel thickness, space of shear transfer devices, out-to- out depth) which affected the bearing capacity of the composite slabs. We also analyzed the strain of crosswise and longitudinal section of the light-weight concrete and the profiled sheet. Finally, we analyzed the result basing on the test and compared with the ordinary concrete composite slabs. It validates the applicability of the design formula about bearing capacity in the "Specification for Design and Construction of Composite Slab" and the 'Technical Specification for Steel Structure of Tall Buildings", providing a basic test support for the application of composite slabs with light-weight aggregate concrete.
