Based on researching all sorts of soft starters available, a complete full-digital Smart Motor Controller with high performance based on P89C54 single chip processor is presented in this paper. It can provide complete functions and improve the performance of start of AC Motors. An improved voltage adjusting model with SCR is used in this control system. By regulating the amplitude of AC motor's voltage, it implements voltage-slope start, current-limit start, soft-stop. The key circuit and software program structure is illuminated in the paper. This full-digital controller is made up of single chip processor and implements control computation, logical determination, pulse-trigger and procession of protective signal etc. It also improves the reliability and availability of this control system, with the following features:SCR conduction angle is adopted as feedback signal to resolve fluctuation of magnetic torque.The minimization of single chip processor system is realized and appears high performance to price ratio and application prospect.Through testing, this system reached the requests of improving the performance of AC motor start, it can start steadily and reliably under the condition that start-current of motor is controlled.
