If a bullet has the defect of tiny holes, crack, etc., it will probably explode in the chamber under the influence of shock waves. So the water-pressure test is one of the key factors in the process of detecting the quality of bullet. The project is to design and manufacture an equipment for the pressure imposed on bullet's inside cavity by the request of a war enterprise.The paper is divided into four parts. Firstly, the system design scheme is mentioned briefly. The principles of hydraulic pressure and water pressure are the main content in this part. Secondly, the software and hardware design of the system control part are introduced, especially the PLC controlling. SIEMENS PLC is the core of the whole control system, which is responsible for all action control and pressure gathering. Thirdly, it mainly focuses on the design of IPC supervising and controling part, which consists of the pricinple and program. IPC can supervise and control the spot by the communication to the PLC. The database is used to manage the test data. Finally, experiments and data processing of the system are introduced. In this part the modification of the electromagnetic valve and the definition of pressure lower limit are the emphases.The paper derived from a practical application subject introduces every section of the system, and the experiments show that the system has good stability and reliability. Therefore, there is a certain reference value for people who are going in for industrial control in some way.
