In process of selective assembly about mechanical products, aiming that the synthetic value of surplus parts is minimal, in this paper, a new concept priority of parts is proposed. And setting up priority evaluation theory facing selective assembly from the view of the concept is a good way to furnish security that the parts of the larger synthetic value are used the most effectively, as a result, the weaknesses of grading dimension in grouping assembly are all avoided. Therefore, a new priority evaluation index system is built by analyzing interrelated cost,potential restriction,quality stabilization period and so on. Secondly, to obtain the priority of parts effectively, the whole problem is divided into two successive phases, the first phase evaluation and the second phase evaluation. On the first phase evaluation, according to the particularity of it, the first phase evaluation is divided into the simple model and the complex model. On the second phase evaluation, a method based on wavelet network(WN) is designed, which forms a system with the first phase evaluation. In the end, an example is given to prove this method's feasibility and validity.
