In seismic design and seismic assessment of bridges, it is necessary for us to understand dynamic responses of bridges under strong earthquakes, especially the responses of bridges with high piers or long span. dynamic characteristic of long-span bridges with long natural period is very complicated. To study the influences of duration of strong earthquakes on structures can help us comprehend the responses of the structures and improve their seismic capacity. During the last twenty years, many bridges with high piers or long span have been built or being built, but few of them have suffered from earthquakes. So there are not enough earthquake data and experiences that can be used in seismic of such bridges. Because of this reason, several questions are in this dissertation. This thesis presents the basic theory of seismic response analysis and based on it, the author makes ananalysis to the Hanyuan Daduhe bridge with three methods:spectrum response analysis, elastic time-history analysis and elastic-plastic time-history analysis of earthquake. 1 fie main content of this thesis includes:1,establishing the 3-dimensional finite element model of Hanyuan Daduhe bridge;2, analyzing the self-vibration characteristic of the bridge;3, studying the influence of the vertical component of earthquake to theseismic response of the bridge;4, considering the influence of the pile-soil interaction to the seismic response of thebridge;...
