The Huck Rivet is a fastener based on the Hooker Principle. The Huck Rivet has tremendous advantages, such as its reliability of connectivity, high linking strength, difficult looseness and small riveting noise. Furthermore, the Huck Rivet can be easily manipulated and it also has qualified function in the guarantee the quality of riveting because of its low chance of being loose and low labor intensity. Based on above advantages, the Huck Rivet is widely used in various types of vehicles, ships, aviations, architectures, mechanical equipments and other related fields.As the Huck Rivet is being implemented more and more widely in the rolling stock, its quality has been the direct factor affecting the safe running of the train. To ensure the safety of Railway Transportation, Ministry of Railways decided that the quality of the Huck Rivet used in rolling stock must be verified with no reason before it was used from 2006 .The CSR Meishan Rolling Stock Works was designated as sentinel testing units for the quality of the Huck Rivet. Concerning this, the project of Huck Rivet Transverse Vibration Test Rig was designed in this thesis, which was specially designed for testing the quality of the Huck Rivet.According to the《Transverse vibration testing method for fasteners》in GB/T10431-1989 and the special requirements of Meishan Rolling Stock Works, the paper offers a method in designing of Huck Rivet Transverse Vibration Test Rig combining the domestic research perspective. The Test Rig is composed of the hydraulic servo actuator, the rack of the Test Rig, the testing machine tooling and fixture, sensors and data acquisition system.The box structure was used in the rack of the Test Rig which can increase the strength and stiffness and easily install the rivet. The design of the testing machine tooling and fixture referred the testing machine tooling and fixture which were recommended by the GB/T10431-1989 to achieve the specified test theory in the GB/T10431-1989. To facilitate the adjustment of the vibration amplitude and frequency, hydraulic servo actuator was used as the pilot test tooling for loading. The hardware in this measuring system used pressure sensors to measure the transverse force and clamping force of the measured Huck Rivet and chose displacement sensor for vibration amplitude. Based on LabVIEW virtual instrument technology and ACCESS database technology, the paper developed its application software. The programs designed can effectively realize data acquisition, data processing, data storage and real-time display. Using ACCESS database technology, the data acquired and stored in the database can be fully managed as to facilitate the reviewing of the history testing data and the quality tracking of the Huck Rivet. This can provide reliable basis in quality management for enterprisesIn this paper, there are detailed description about the choice of the power device, the rack of the Test Rig, the testing machine tooling and fixture, the method of the designing of measuring system hardware and software .the paper also implemented the precision analysis of the hardware in this system.In the laboratory, related experiment is done for functional test of system software, the test results show that this system designed based on the LabVIEW can realize the data acquisition, display, storage, data inquiring and other basic functions. The whole system achieves the due goals of design.
