The transmission system has great influence on automobile's power performance and fuel economy performance. In order to obtain the best matching between engine and transmission system and improve the performance of automobile, choosing its parameters correctly is very important in designing a car. Taking the Lubao car of Hafei automobile Ltd. With a 1.3L engine of DA471QL as an example, this paper finished simulation calculation of its power and fuel economy performance for different transmission rates. Basing on comparing the results of experiment and simulation and thinking of not only current country standard of fuel law but also realizing power performance, a suitable rate was obtained and the optimization of Lubao car's transmission parameter was achieved.Firstly, automobile's power performance and fuel economy performance indexes were discussed in detail, then the simulation calculating methods were presented for Lubao car in this thesis.Secondly, using above methods to calculate and analyse automobile's power and fuel economy performance under the conditions of different transmission rates.Finally, a series of experiments were performed. Comparing the results of experiments and simulations showed that they were in good agreement mostly, at the same time the veracity of simulation calculation was validated.
