China officially promulgated GB19578-2004 ?vehicle fuel consumption limits ?mandatory national standards on September 2, 2004. The standards include the limit of the Oil Consumption for the current production and new vehicles and made clear time limits of the implementation, in accordance with the standards and provisions of the country's future economic model for small displacement vehicle incentives, the performance targets of the gasoline engine product by DONGAN company with 2 valves and small amount will not be able to meet these requirements. To achieve better the dynamics goals and fuel economy, these engines need for the corresponding optimization and upgrading badly.In this paper, the engine performance capability and development tendency of the engines with 2 valves domestic international are researched ,and according to the performance contrast of the DA465Q Engine and the engines with 2 valves domestic and international, with the union of DongAn company's rich experience and the good market foundation on the actually producing engines with 2 valves at present, proved the the necessity for DA465Q Engine to carry on the performance promotion and optimization.In this paper, the process simulation engine analysis theory and methods are examined, and did simulation calculation for the work process of DA465Q engine using the professional BOOST simulation software which belongs to the AVL company. Calculations showed that the established calculation models of the work process and choiced basic parameters can meet the actual situation of DA465Q engine, The difference of the computed result and the actual value is not big, the computation precision conforms to the requirement, which is extremely important and precious for our performance optimization work on the next step.According to the ICE Principle, the parameter of the intake manifold length, the up-length of the cam shaft, distribution phase, and so on are optimized. Using the optimized parameter, we has carried on the analog computation, the analysis and the experimental confirmation for the 465 Engine, and has discovered the influence tendency of these parameters to the engine performance, and finally a good result is got, which established the method of optimization work on next step. By optimizing the parameter of the intake manifold length, the up-length of the cam shaft, distribution phase, and so on, the performance of the DA465Q Engine is enhanced largely, the power went up by 6%, and the torque grew 9%, the obtaining of these data have indicated the direction for DA465Q Engine optimization work.
