Driving various kinds of machines, induction motors have a wide range of applications in great quantity. They are used in various fields such as industries, commerce, public services and household appliances.Because of knowledge economy and global economy, enterprises nowadays must have capacity to develop new products rapidly so as to survive the competitive market. It is demonstrated that three-dimension CAD/CAM technology plays an important role in speeding up the development of new products, along with improving their quality and reducing their cost. Three-dimension CAD/CAM technology is a powerful tool for enterprise to create new designs, so as to improve their competitive ability in the market.Modern induction motors have advances in customization, integration, intelligentizing, high reliability, high efficiency and environment protection. There are a lot of types of induction motors. The more the special purpose induction motors are, the more urgent for computer-aided drawing (CAD) technology to be employed to design new types of induction motors.CAD technology has great influence on product design in both design ideas and design methods. It makes the design process without any paper, the communication of design schemes more convenient and rapid, and the whole design process with high efficiency. It shortens the period of product development, improves the reliability of the design. It also leads to the integration of design analysis, design simulation and design manufacture. This thesis introduces several kinds of popular CAD software. Their features are compared and their differences are told. The thesis discusses the feasibility of transformation between each drawing based on different software, and the way to perform the transformation. PRO/E2001 is mainly introduced on subjects such as sorts of windows, functions of menu bars, access of files, and fundamental operations on the software. It is demonstrated to transform 3-dimension drawing into 2-dimension drawing, and multiple-point of view pictures. Taking as example the steel sheet of the rotor of an induction motor, the thesis presents a detailed CAD process using PRO/E2001. A gallery is set up for the 3-dimension steel sheet of the stator and rotor of an induction motor. Source code programs, together with their instructions, are included. The thesis introduces how to fetch our needing drawing from 3-dimension easily and how to create a new drawing via modifying parameter of a current old drawing.
