For reducing harmonic distortion and increasing the power supply network efficiency, power factor correction is necessary. Power-Factor (PF) is one of the quality indices of electric equipment, and improving the power factor of a more pro-active approach is the adoption of the Active-Power-Factor-Correction (APFC) technology. In recent years, with the stricter quality requirement of electric equipment, this technique has become the focus in the power electronics research field and has been widely applied.In the middling power occasions, the voltage and current of single-phases single-tier Power-Factor-Correction(PFC) converter stress stronger, and the effect of PF proofreading is far worse than single-phase-two-tier, so research on single-phase two-tier PFC technology is of great practical significance and applied value.This thesis introduces the PFC development and the significance of PFC technology and indicates the hot issues currently. According to this reality, the main purpose of this paper is to study the transformation of the Boost PFC + Half-bridge DC/DC Two-tier Power Factor Correction Circuit topology and completes the design of a-1000W tester.The results of the experiment show that the single-phase-two-tier power factor correction converter in the paper has the following characteristics: smaller harmonic distortion of the input current, higher power factor, better characteristic of the output voltage, and easier to change the output model by the monitor of microchip.
