Internal Combustion Engine is widely used on almost all kind of vehicles because of its intensive power and high thermal efficiency. At the same time, engine can also generate violent vibration and great noise, which bring significant uncomfortable sense to passengers and reduce the security of the vehicle. So the improvement in the performance of the engine mounting systems, which isolates the vibration transferring from the engine to the body of the car, definitely plays an important role in resolving such problems. If we can use a perfect tool for vibration and acoustic analysis of power units such as AVL Excite, the complex and time-consuming design work will be more efficient and economic. In this paper, we have a research on YC6L diesel engine vibration isolation systems by the aid of AVL Excite, what we have done are as follows:1 We had an analysis on all kinds of forces exerting on YC6L engine, and found out the main forces and their magnitude, frequency, direction etc;2 We had a test on the whole engine vibration, and record the data used to compare with the result of the simulation;3 We measured the static property and dynamic property of the engine mount;4 We meshed the engine body and crankshaft in FEA software, reduced the FEM in Ansys, and loaded the files into Excite. Then we built the dynamic model in Excite for engine mounting system analysis, and started to calculate. Then we compare the simulation result with test result, and found out the reasons for leading to errors;5 We optimized the stiffness of the rubber mount based on engine mounting decoupling theory, and optimization techniques, and results showed that the performance was improved at high speed range.The whole work suggests that AVL Excite is a kind of excellent dynamic simulation software which can provide a great help in the design of engine mounting system design. The sensitivity analysis tells us which factor will have a more evident influence on the engine vibration isolation performance. On one side we can improve the simulation model by measure the corresponding parameters more precisely, and on the other side we can improve the performance of engine mounting system by tunning some parameters rationally.
