Scaffold is always a kind of indispensable construction device in architecture construction. With the rapid development of social economy and the constant expansion of urban architecture scale in our country, more and more high-storeies and super high-storeies buildings appear. The requirement of scaffold is steadily on the increase. It is uneconomic and unsafe to build traditional console scaffold. The new style scaffold is placed on one of the ten's new techniques by Construction Department.The paper makes a deep analysis of traditional scaffold system on the basis of consulting a vast amount of document and material of scaffold. It designs a set of hydraulic stepping auto-climbing scaffold device which has the hydraulic elevation mechanism and the two-pole anti-dropping mechanism combining with the projects of scaffold transform. At the same time, it makes a deep research of the key techniques of the design and development of the hydraulic stepping auto-climbing scaffold. Following is the main content of the paper:(1) Overall design. Makes an overall design calculation and analysis of the part, the loads (including the static load, the dynamical load and the wind load), the main specification and the characteristic of the scaffold.(2) The design and calculation of the scaffold's hydraulic system.Carries on the work like the hydraulic cylinder design, the hydraulic system draft, the hydraulic part choice, the system checking etc. Analyses the work process of hydraulic system, such as the electromagnetism valve action sequence, the process of scaffold climbing, synchronous process etc.(3) The design and calculation of the scaffold's control system. Discusses the principle and work process of the electrical and over-load control system and analyses how to turn it into PLC control system, including the electrical control of the up and down motion of the scaffold, the selection of sensor, the design of digital display circuit and compatative control circuit, the characteristic, type choosing, hardware structure, work way and program design of PLC control through STEP 7-Micro/WIN32 software etc.(4) The design and calculation of the scaffold's two-pole resist drop mechanisms. Discusses the overall scheme of the resist drop mechanisms, selects the basic model , makes the structure design and correlation calculation of the anti-dropping mechanism and analyses the principles of the two-pole anti-dropping mechanism.Through this research, the paper basically solves the main problem in the design process of scaffold, providing the theoretical basis for the follow-up development and production. Futhermore, it provides a direction of future development of the scaffold.
