Pump shaft is an important and core part as it is in other industrial machines and equipments. When a pump is in its working process, the strength and the vibration of the shaft of the pump will have a great impact on stability and reliability. While CAD, CAE technology has been widely applied in design and analysis works, finite element theory has been extensively given more and more application and attention. It is very practical for FEM to be more used in the design of pumps, especially for checking the strength of components. ANSYS software is one kind of the FEM analysis software, and it is very practical, powerful, widespread and broad generalization. In its vast areas of application, analysis method mainly for checking the strength and stress distribution on solid components has been widely used and developed. This paper, using ANSYS software, presents the theoretical analysis and calculation using the finite element analysis of the static, dynamic and transient modal analysis method on the strength, rigidity, vibration and other aspects of magnet-drive pump shaft base on its special load.At first, based on its working conditions, the static analysis is applied for the shaft to gain a static position of principal stress distribution, and then comes the checking calculation on it according to the third and fourth strength theory. After that, the shaft vibration frequency and the shaft vibration are calculated in FEM modal analysis method. Last, the shaft is given an inspection by kinetic transient analysis method, with the time change under load deformation and stress distribution and on this basis, using ANSYS post-processing on the shaft of fatigue, reached a usage of the fatigue factor on shaft's dangerous point. After calculation and research on the pump shaft using ANSYS software and applying of the finite element method, a static, dynamic strength, stiffness and vibration analysis method is presented. Certified that this method is relatively accurate data and more realistic, it has good value and practical application prospects.
