Aluminum alloy wheel is one of the most important parts of vehicle's lightweight. This paper made use of three-dimensional design software UG and finite element analysis software Hypermesh and ABAQUS, focused on the structural response under tet10 and hex8 mesh element and infection of the model with bolts preload, which received simplified finite element model. Then static analysis of the cornering fatigue test and modal analysis was taken. According to loading frequency below one-third of the minimum modal frequency, role of inertia can be ignored and need not to do model dynamic analysis. With the result of static analysis and component S-N curve, fatigue life was predicted. The method was proved comparing with the physical test. Finally, impact test analysis was taken. The results reflected the general location of damage products and the general trend, provided reference for designers. The method in this paper provides some important reference and worthiness application during the aluminum alloy wheel design process.
