The Research Of Universal Design Of Family Bathing System

The paper profoundly analyzed the idea of universal design which was prospering in the west countries after barrier-free design. The paper emphasized the research of theory about universal design. Firstly, the paper introduced the origin, the development and the status of the universal design. The paper researched the core idea of the universal design from the view points of sociology, consumer psychology and design. The paper classified the all users by constructed the pyramid of universal design which was discussed the difference between universal design and other design. Secondly, the paper summarized the design points of universal design which was applied in the interior design and product design. Finally, the bathing system was designed in the paper. From the view point of man-machine-environment, the paper researched the features of different health status of users, and concluded their university needs in the bathing system. The universal design project of family bathing system was presented according to the needs of different health status of users and preliminary investigation. Furthermore, the paper described the project by the scene model method which could test the universality of design project.
