The term"green"is now wide spread. A healthy and elegant environment calls for"green"design. When developing new"green"decorating materials, did we think of using natural conditions? For example, sunlight is the bounty of nature. To enjoy sunlight reflects a healthy life. This paper analyzes and sets forth the following questions: How to analyze the influence of natural light in design? How to intensify space order and light atmosphere of indoor design by analyzing and dealing with natural light?Based on the basic theories of architecture aesthetics, this study demonstrates the relationship between light and architecture from three aspects: First, it states functions of light in church buildings from the angle of religious philosophy; Second, it draws light and shadow in architecture from the relationship between light and architecture aesthetics; Third, in the light of practice, it discusses about light and architecture energy saving, and propose the calling of more attention to natural light in architecture design. In the field of architecture light environment, the study of natural light has always been a focal point. The development of science and technology makes it possible to adopt natural light in architecture design to the greatest extent. However, with the developing of new industrial architecture materials, illumination technology is also progressing, which has lead to some architects neglecting natural light design. In a word, this study interprets fundamentals of architecture light, in the hope of making more students understand architecture light environment and pay more attention to the quality of light environment, and appeals to architects and planners to understand light, observe light and use light positively, to take part in light environment design actively.
