Nowadays, tracked vehicles have been widely used in practical engineering. With the requirement of high mobility, theory of track system still need further studies in order to improve the reliability and cross country performance of tracked vehicles.Traditional methodology, according to experiences and large number of tests, needs a long life cycle and high costs. Based on the classic theory of multi-body system dynamics, the virtual prototype of a high-speed, high-mobility military tracked vehicle is established. And the dynamic analysis and simulation of tracked vehicles are carried out. The virtual experiments results can provide theoretical guide for evaluation of vehicle's mobility and optimal design of tracked vehicles.In this thesis, emphasizes are placed on the dynamic simulations of tracked vehicles under some typical travel condition. In addition, the mechanism of track system is described in detail. Some factors of track-peel-off problem are validated through simulation, and improvement measures are proposed as the foundation of track-peel-off problem's solution.1. Simulation of vehicle crossing the obstacles, such as crossing the trench, overcoming the vertical obstacle. It can improve test security and more actually reflects the vehicle travel condition than traditional static method.2. Simulation of vehicle turning at a high speed. The dynamic responses of turning vehicle and terrain influence to vehicle's stability are analyzed.3. Simulation of vehicle traveling on soft terrain. It's positive to improve efficiency and reduce the fuel consumption.4. Analysis of track-peel-off problem. Track-peel-off, caused by the destruction of track systems'stability, is vital to tracked vehicles. The research on track-peel-off problem is very significant to improve the performance and reliability of tracked vehicles.The dynamic analysis and simulation of tracked vehicle can provide information for vehicle's evaluation and improvement. It is of great significance to the reduction of real prototyping manufacture and real laboratory test.
