Commercial Building Complexes With Organic Integration Of Urban Space

Because of the rapid urbanization and city's economic development in China recent years, commercial building complexes have emerged among nationwide major cities.However, many commercial building complexes did not integrate into the urban space,and there is no way to create a proper commercial value, to the city will bring negative impact. It not only created an enormous waste of resources,but also brought a number of series urban problems,such as : urban transport systems were sluggish, decreased the city productivity, made the quality of urban life come down and urban commercial environment recession,Etc. Thus, this paper explored organic integration issues and proposed problem-solving strategies and recommendations from the macro-, meso-and micro-level,though the theoretical analysis, and combined with the practical research on May 1st Plaza region in Changsha city. The organic integration between commercial building complexes and urban space were proposed from city traffic, city function, urban texture, urban ecology and urban commercial five aspects. This research can provide a reference for the commercial complex building construction and the transformation of the existing building.Based on the theories were studied from different disciplines in architecture, urban planning and commercial geography, the mechanisms and the existing problems of the interaction between city center commercial building complexes and urban space were explored.It was innovative in a certain perspective of disciplines integration.The full text is divided into five chapters, key parts are 4 chapter and 5 chapter.Chapter 1 Introduction. This section described the research background and significance. And determined the objectives and methodology of system and built a logical framework of the research thesis.Chapter 2 Analysising the concepts and theories the research related. This section analysised the concepts of commercial building complex and the urban space, identified the concept of organic integration,the region and temporal scales in paper.Chapter 3 The developing process and features of commercial building complex. This chapter reviewed the developing process of commercial building complex,sumed up its characteristics, the underlying reasons of development, and finally made developing trends for the future.Chapter 4 The mechanism and problems of the interaction between commercial building complex and urban space.This chapter explored the mechanism and problems between commercial building complex and urban space, through the research on the functions of cities, urban spatial patterns, urban transport and so on.Chapter 5 The methods of organic integration between commercial building complex and urban space. Based on practicial research,this chapter summed up five aspects about organic integration and raised the corresponding solutions.
