Heat exchangers are standard components in the field of Power Engineering, and also other process industry . To take shell and tube heat exchanger as an example, the hot and cold fluid separately flow in the tube, so that the export temperature can achieve the needs of industrial production. However, as the control method and the manufacture level constraints, the heat exchange efficiency is low and the control effect is bad. How to improve the effect of the heat exchanger controlling has long-term significance.In the first part of this paper, we carried out a detailed analysis of heat exchanger control system currently, which provides a theoretical basis for the next step to improve the control effect of heat exchanger. Secondly, it is necessary to transform the advanced process control equipment, such as the data collection system, data transmission system, A/D system and implementing agencies. According to the equipment and the heat exchanger process control flowchart, in the next part, we establish the mathematical model to the temperature control system. In partâ…£, basic on the mathematical model and the analysis of the temperature control system, we design the corresponding control strategies what is a fuzzy-cascade control method. In the main loop a Smith-Fuzzy control method has been introduced and in the deputy circuit a Fuzzy-PID control method has been given. Finally, we take the theory into practice on the advanced process control system and analysis the test result.
