The modern building is developing quickly towards this trend: its system becomes more and more complicated; its structure becomes more and more various. As a result, its computation becomes more and more heavy, the traditional manual way can not satisfy project need, and engineers have to recur to computer aided design. The finite element method is the widest used numerical compute method in engineering, because of its compatibility and validity; it also gets highly attentions in building design area. Going along with the quick development of computer science and technology, the finite element method technology has become significant part in building computer aided design. While applying the finite element method into building design, the first problem that engineers have to face is how to model building's basic elements such as column,beam,brace,floor and wall. column,beam and brace is one-dimensional element, and its rule between force and deformation is simple, so its model work has become mature; However, this rule in two-dimensional elements is much more complex such as shear-wall and floor in buildings, and the model work of shear-wall is much more difficult, setting up a finite element model which can accurate,effective model and accord with shear-wall's real stress-strain rule becomes one problem in structure finite element method. The researchers have established various shear-wall elements and successfully applied them in building design. However, there are still some unsolved problems in shear-wall model work, for instance, the problem that element accuracy quickly reduce while girding becomes malformed,the problem of shear locking in thick slab, these problems used to be hotspot in finite element method study, lately, researchers found some non-principle ways to make these problems become tempered, and gradually lost their interesting in these problems.This article bases on finite element method to discuss the finite element model work of shear-wall, by the study of shear-wall finite element effectively solve some problems in shear-wall finite element model work. The primary work included in this article as follow:1) Compare and study several influential shear-wall element models at home and overseas, study their model assumption and rules of force and deformations, analyze the relationship between model assumption and shear-wall real state, and analyze these elements' performance while used in real projects, then give some suggestions for engineering design.2) Study plate element in shear-wall with hole. Generally it uses membrane element to simulate shear-wall's in-plane rigid and uses plate element to simulate out-plane rigid. Shear-wall primarily exerts its in-plane rigid in a structure system, thus researchers mainly concern its in-plane mechanic rule, and much of software has gradually simulated its in-plane rigid maturely. Compared with in-plane rigid, its out-plane rigid always be ignored, while actually, as a space element, shear-wall element is relative to other elements, so it is also an important task to simulate its out-plane rigid. This article studies plate element setting up theory, analyses thin plate and thick plate element assumption and their theory, and primarily study the shear locking problem in plate element.3) Research of lathy shear-wall element, while dealing with the condition of malformed girding, ordinary shear-wall elements always perform bad accuracy, though researchers have tried their best to make girding optimized, there are inevasible still some malformed girding in real projects, for example, while dealing with shear-wall with hole, lathy wall-column may appear, the analysis is always imprecise while using ordinary shear-wall elements, the result may bring hidden trouble to projects. This article studies the mechanism of the problem that malformed girding leads bad accuracy and analyzes the reasons, then set up a finite element named SHELL_BAR, which can perform well while dealing with lathy girding, properly solve the problem lathy girding problem.
