Fire accident can cause tremendous life and property loss and hence is becoming one of the most detrimental disasters to human beings.Since concrete structures are widely used in the building constructions,to ensure the fire safety of concrete structures is of great significance for the safety of human beings. However, the reported fire safety research on concrete structures is mainly about the common forms of structure.Short limb shear wall as a new form of structure, its fire safety is seldom studied. In view of this,in this thesis, the shear load bearing capacity of the short limb shear wall under fire are numerically investigated and suggestions are given for the fire design of the structure. The main work conducted in this thesis is as follows:(1)The material properties of concrete and steel under high temperatures are first reviewed and the proper material properties are selected for the numerical analysis.(2)Based on the theory of heat transfer, the temperature field of the sort limb shear wall under fire condition is simulated by using the ABAQUS software. In the analysis, the effects of different factors, such as the heating time and heating condition, heat conduction coefficient, the thickness of concrete cover,on the temperature field are also discussed.(3)To verify the validity of the finite element method used for the non-linear mechanical analysis in this thesis, the experiments reported in the literature are model and the numerical results are compared with the experimental results for the verification.(4)By applying the mechanical-thermal sequence coupling method and using the verified non-linear mechanical analysis model, the shear load bearing capacity of the short limb shear wall under fire conditions are analyzed. The effects of different influencing factors, such as the length depth ratio, the axial load ratio, the thickness of concrete cover, the fire location, the spacing of stirrup in the flange of shear wall,on the shear resistance capacity of the shear wall are also analyzed.Suggestions are given for the safety design of the structure based on the analysis.
