This paper investigates the nondestructive testing means of faults in concrete structures. Synthetically discuss the primary methods and its character of the concrete structures' faults testing. Summarize the development and existing problem of domestic and international of the concrete structures' nondestructive testing.Using the ultrasonic detects the concrete crack depth of the surface and internal lacunas and holes aiming at the character of the concrete structures, in common concrete and steel fiber reinforced concrete forming earlier period. Through experimental study and data processing and analysis, the effect is ideal to detect the concrete lacunas and holes region, the application of the way in nondestructive testing is suitable and feasible.Nondestructive testing techniques of engineering structure based on vibration theory are founded. The systematic studies on these techniques are completed by theoretical, numerical simulations, experiments.Through two ways of numerical simulations and experiments is to study the rule and the character of the structure damage detection using frequency response function to the cantilever beam structure. The numerical simulations are consisent with the experiments study well. The result shows that it is difficult to detect the presence of initial damage and its severity, and locate initial damage using the frequency response function.The cantilever beam damage detection methods using curvature mode are studied by numerical simulation. The characteristics of curvature mode are compared with those of traditional displacement mode. Numerical simulation result shows that displacement mode shape is less sensitive to structural damage than curvature mode shapes, and locating structural damage is more difficult. Curvature mode shape can indicate the presence of initial damage and its severity, and locate initial damage of a structure effectively. Curvature mode shape is suitable for detection multiple damage in a structure.
