Combined with the bank protection works on Nanjing reach of Yangtze River, the design, construction and application about the Permeable Frames of Tetrahedron with Six Sides is studied in this paper. After analyzing the frames' mechanism on bank protection and investigating the hydrology condition of Nanjing Baguazhou reach, the frames' arrangement scheme and structure design is discussed and a construction process is researched completely. Moreover, a calculating formula of the distance between the casting and landing point is put forward based on some experiments in laboratory.According to the study, the frames can stabilize and protect the bank efficaciously by means of scattering water flow, changing partial flow pattern, varying velocity of flow on cross section, decelerating the velocity of flow to carry few sands and changing the scouring and silting state beside the bank.Finally a reasonable plan and design about how to apply the frames in the bank protection works on Nanjing Baguazhou reach of Yangtze River is brought forward after the frames' dimension, material, casting scale and reasonable arrangement method is considered in the research.Some important details of the works related to the practice which can solve some specific technical difficulties are also discussed in this paper, such as the prefabrication of the frames, survey and setting out, shift of the locating ship, locating of the loading ship and the casting of the frames.
