Study On Channel Grade Development Of Luzhou To Chongqing Reach Of Yangtze River

The Yangtze River as the largest river in China is the most important national inland water way, the water transport of which is very superior and the freight volume accounted for40%of the national inland waterway freight volume. The Yangtze River main line is the important link which is connected to the western, central and eastern regions of our country.The reaches from Luzhou (944km away from Yichang) to Chongqing has become an important channel of the external traffic in western, which runs through Chongqing,Sichuan,Yunnan,Guizhou and other provinces or cities. The channel construction project has been finished as the third grade of waterway.In recent years, at the upper reaches of Yangtze River the water transportation freight volume has increased rapidly, the ship type are enlarging, and local departments are eager to improve the grade of waterway. On December14,2007, Premier Wen has made the important instructions:"The Yangtze River waterway construction should be strengthened." that fully reflects our government’s attention to waterway construction.So it is very necessary to improve the grade of waterway at the reaches from Luzhou to Chongqing.In this paper, it is studied that probability of improving channel grade in Luzhou to Chongqing reach,using data collection, theoretical analysis, and so on. Main results were summarized as follows:1. It is necessary to improve the current channel three grade in Luzhou-Chongqing reach In the analysis of two aspects of Water transport volume increasing and vessels size enlarging after.2.With river channel morphological relationship in Luzhou to Chongqing excellent reach, Estimate the grade I channel the required flow rate is less than the designed lowest navigable water level of reach the corresponding flow,and Reach the natural inflow can stable the depth greater than grade I standard depth of channel; On the other hand, from the analysis of the reach regulation practice, some rapids in grade III channel scale standard rectification reaches or exceeds the standard, therefore, the regulation of Luzhou to Chongqing reach channel can improve the channel scale standard.3. Of Luzhou to Chongqing reach channel to conduct a comprehensive verification,44rapids need for treatment in order to meet grade I channel conditions, put forward the idea of waterway regulation, and point to the Shenbeizhui rapids as the typical representative, analyzes the rapids navigation obstructing characteristics, Pre treatment scheme and effect Measures as dredging in the right branch, building submerged dike in the left branch, heightening the spur dike and the longitudinal dike built along the central island,and so on, is takend to promote to grade I channel.
