Human being can not live without water,and requires the water design. As the relationship between Landscape Planning and Design which is a human being activity and the element of water, the relationship is divided into two primary kinds. One of them is the activity of landscape design by human that make sufficient effect to natural circulating of water, and the other one impact the circulating faintly. On the first kind of activity, the effect will emerge after many years and impact environment seriously because of the large-scale projects, such as Three Gorges Project, govern the rivers and so on. On the other hand, on the second kind of activity, water design always appears in the scale of venue design as the important human makes. This landscape presents to the city space around us usually, and closely related to out daily lives. It is encountered most frequently in landscape design. To the modern landscape designer, it's important to improve city life through everyday work.Landscape design as a human activity based on economy and superstructure has a purpose that service people so as to make life better. Meanwhile it seeks vision aesthetics and psychology aesthetics. Moreover, it is universally acknowledged that continuance in environment value field is the aim of entironment. Make the water design come true will refer to society activities, in turn, the water design can active the society, and its society characteristics will emerge in the period. Characteristics of aesthetics, zoology and society are not only the main elements to common space water design, but also are the important principle to verify it.Firstly, this paper will search the source of water design from traditional landscape design, and discuss the primary reasons that affect the modern public space waterscape design through the ternary value standards of aesthetics, zoology and society. Second, It will be analyzed that how to strike the balance between aesthetics, zoology and society value according some examples. At last, some design methods of public space waterscape design practices will be summarized.
