Design Of Virtual Gamma-ray Spectrometer

The measurement of gamma-ray is an important physical method in the field ofnuclear geography. It becomes main means in solving many problems in many fileds, forexample, geoscience, environment, and so on. Especially, along with national livingstandard enhancement, the people pay more and more attention to own environment, inwhich radon and the building materials radioactivity are two important sources ofpollution.Therefore, it needs more effective, convenient, quick room radioactivecontamination examination and assessment method.Gamma spectrometer can be one ofmain tools.We use the technology of virtual instrument in designing and developing the virtualgamma-ray spectrometric on this paper. Virtual gamma-ray spectrometric realizes thecollection of nuclear pluse signal and data analysis functions. For example,functions wehave finished can be see as follows:Multi-channel analyzer based on LabVIEW;peak-datadisplays immediately when sampling; administrable file about spectral data;highlightmanipulation on spectral data; spectral data's smooth,peak-search,the counts of anyrequired section; nuclide content computing;sample controlling and DAQ cardconfiguration.Based on the technology of virtual instrument and the computer resource now we had,the virtual gamma-ray spectrometric that we had designed and developed has manyvirtues such as compact structure,friendly interface,easy to extend and update.After the preliminary test of virtual gamma spectrometer which we design, itsperformance meets the design requirements.Furtherly, it illuminates that the technology ofvirtual instrument used in designing gamma-ray spectrometer is right in theoretically andfeasible in practically.
