Nowadays the construction of freeways are developing rapidly allover the country. In orderto improve the efficiency and management, and give prominence to the benefit of the society andeconomy, Ministry of Communications issued a statute about the interconnection toll of freewaysin September, 2001. Based on this statute, every province and city is making great efforts to pushthe work on the interconnection toll of freeways.In the construction of interconnection toll system, a common problem encountered is toidentify the driving paths of the vehicles, which is, in another word, how to determine the drivingpath of a vehicle in the interconnection freeways, and charge the toll correctly, as well how toapportion the toll within the different freeway companies. The Apportion of the toll directly affectsthe legal profit of each freeway, which is the key point of the interconnection toll. Under thisbackground, it is positive to study the path identification in the interconnection freeways alloverthe provinces and cities in China.The study of this project aims at the toll charging and apportioning of More two path in thefreeway net. It is to share the information about the vehicle, path and driver in the freeways,charge reasonable toll, improve the capacity of freeways and the quality of service, ensure theconvenience and safety of the passengers, and actualize the intellectualized management offreeways.The study of this project is coming from part of the subject "Study and Application ofIntellectualized Transportation Toll System", which Science and Technology Office of ZhejiangProvince already listed in the first batch of major technology projects. 1 am one of the participantsof this major subject. The study aims at the toll charging and apportioning of More two path in thefreeway net, exploring how to reasonably charge the toll of vehicles under the environment ofinterconnection toll of freeways, as well the efficient way to apportion the toll fairly andreasonably. It gives the path identification system based on radio frequency technology, recordingthe actual driving path of every vehicle, charging and apportioning the toll based on actual drivingpath, resolving some key technologies including battery life, deeply stand-by, intellectualizedantenna and card thickness. It is expected to solve the problem of the toll charging andapportioning of More two path in the freeway net, ensure more efficient freeway net and timely transportation information feedback system. At present, the application of radio frequencytechnology in the interconnection toll system of freeway net is already in the stage of trial testingin some actual freeways, and the effect of system testing is satisfied.
