Research On Structure Performance Of Asphalt Overlay On Old Cement Concrete Pavement

Paving asphalt pavement on the old concrete pavement is a common effective technique for pavement regeneration. It has the advantages of short construction period, little side effects for transportation and good service after regeneration. So it has been the common measure to improve the pavement performance, promote the carrying capacity and prolong the service deadline. But during the use of overlay, it easily emerges the reflect cracking in asphalt concrete pavement because of the original crack in cement concrete, and this brings severe negative influences on the life of pavement. Today there has no mature design of overlay though having had research and test on this aspect in our country. It was necessary and feasible to study the design to prevent reflecting cracks on the asphalt overlaid on the old cement concrete pavement.According to entitative engineering, Hatong highway rehabilitation is studied in this paper. Through the study such as pavement condition survey and evaluation of carrying capacity then analysis the primary causes of breakages. Disposition measure is brought forward in allusion to different breakage conditions.Based on experience and harvest obtained home and abroad, pavement structure of asphalt overlay is studied out by forecasting future traffic capacity, the material composition design and performance of mid-layer is considered as emphasis.The article analyzes the stress state of asphalt overlay in load stress at the critical load position by a calculation of finite element procedure ANSYS, verifies the rationality of design project on research pavement's overlay, still analyzes the parameters of each structure layer on composite pavement at the same time, which will provide some beneficial experience and references for project design of maintenance and reconstruction on the old cement concrete pavement later on.
