With the rapid economic development and continuous social progress, people have become to pay increasing attention to environment.Waterfront area of costal cities alwys enjoys the fastest and most vigorous urban development both in economic and ecological construction. Thus, more and more concern has been brought to the construction of waterfront area in particular that of waterfront green space. Waterfront green space not only betters the ecological environment of the city while bringing about ecological benefit, also gives peope esthetic enjoyment by plant landscaping and promotes the tourism industry so as to increase the city's reputation.As the second largest city in Jiin province, Jilin city has the S-shaped Songhua River crossing it and five urban districts dotting at both sides of the river, so the city is also named as "A River City in North China". Honored as the mother river of Jilin city, Songhua River is of great significance to the city. In recent years, due to the greater construction of riverside waterfront green space, both the land area of the green space and the richness of plants have been further improved. Nevertheless, some problems have also arisen such as the inappropriate distribution plant and unqualified planting and protection. Hence, research on the distribution plant that is suitable for the waterfront area in Jilin city can enrich the plant landscape and provide theoretical and practical guidance to the green space construction.With the waterfront green space along the riverside roads in Jilin city, this thesis summarizes the distribution plant model of waterfront green space that has relatively better landscape in Jilin city for now. Meanwhile, by means of plenty of distribution plant photos and in view of various green space models, every group chooses 25 typical representative photos and then asks different groups of people to comment on the landscape. Simultaneously, professionals will be asked to comment on the 25 photos' landscape by SD model. In the end, with a view to the two different landscape evaluation models of BIB-LCJ and SD, the most suitable distribution plant model is concluded and then to be analyzed.The thesis also makes a preliminary evaluation of the environmental benefits of the current major waterfront green space in Jilin city with reference to the evaluation and measurement model of landscape afforestation of He Zhen. The preliminary estimated value of environmental benefits of waterfront green space landscape in Jilin city amounts to 239.81 million per year.
