Analysis And Evaluation Of Plant Landscape In Urban Waterscape Space In Xi'an City

Urban waterscape is one of most glamorous landscape places in the city, it is also a good environment for city resident to get-close-to nature and release themselves. The plant is an indispensable landscape element in urban waterscape, and its affect is far more than any other landscape elements on environment beautification and ecological protection. The plant landscape is not only an important constituent of urban waterscape, what is more, it expresses the cultural development of urban waterscape, and records the ability to appreciate the arts in different stages of social development, therefore it will certainly attach more and more importance to analyze and research on the history and the reality of the plant landscape in urban waterscape space.According to its different water body trends, shapes and criterions, this paper classified Xi'an's urban waterscape into the artificial brook, the moat, the natural river, small planar-shape waterscape and the big planar-shape waterscape, and has carried on the spot investigations to its present situation, the field surveys including plant disposition, plant species, plant quantity, plant's aesthetic characteristic and so on. Statistic work was done on the large surveying data. Based on this, a modified plant landscape evaluation method named "AHP model and method" proposed by Tang Dongqin was used to assess plant landscape of different types of waterscapes. In this model, full mark is10 point; general mark above 8.0 means "the best"; between 6.5 and 8.0, "good"; between 5.5 and 6.5,"moderate"; and below 5.5, "bad". Assessment results show that: The average marks for the plant landscape in different waterscape space were 6.352,5.978,5.041,6.933,6.198 each. Therefore, plant landscape of small planar-shape waterscape was"good", for artificial brook, moat, and the big planar-shape waterscape were "moderate"; while for natural river was "bad".According to the different types of plant community forms in different waterscape space, and the results of landscape evaluation, this paper recommended some corresponding plant configuration mode to adapt to different waterscape types, as the reference in the future designing. According to the results of investigation, evaluation in different stages, this paper summarized the current problems existed in plant landscape design in waterscape space in Xi'an city and proposed solutions.
