Universal Design Research And Its Application In Information Equipment Of Public Environment

The main research of this article is universal design theory and its application in information equipment of public environment.The universal design is to take all populace as the user design form,and the goal is to cause both of the non- barrier public figure and the barrier public figure to be equal participation society.From last century 80's The universal design had dozens of years development history, and in this process it unceasingly by the general designers,even the ordinary consumer knew well. But in our country, the universal design also belongs to the emerging concept, only a small group of people know it.The realistic situation of our country at present includes: Entered the old age society, the disabled population proportion in 2000 accounts for the national population 5%, in 2008 our country will hold the Olympic Games and Athletic meet for people with disabilities. This all facts all request our country to speed up consummate the non- barrier system and early establish the universal system. Based on this,this article analyzes the universal design development ,the general principle of universal design, the mark, the domain, the method and so on,hope to help our country's universal system construction.The theory instruction practice, simultaneously applies to the practice. Entered for the 21st century, the world entered the Digital Age. At the same time, there are more and more senior citizen in our society and the disabled person certainly has not also reduced, moreover there are a lot of people who have the short barrier like pregnant woman. In our living conditions there are very many barriers,which brings various difficulty to them.In recent years, the electronic information equipment appeared in many public environment.They are practical, quickly, convenient, and received many public figures' favour. But these equipments are mostly designed for the health, and neglectes other user communities, therefore creates the barrier public figure to use inconvenient and psychological imbalance.This article attempts to utilize universal design to solute above questions. The paper first carried on analyze the users of the public environment information equipment, then to analyze the factor which affectes the equipment, again through each kind of electronic information equipment on-the-spot investigation to summarize the public environment information equipment general design main points . Taking the subway stamp vending machine as the example, studying its spatial criterion and the man-machine surface , finally summarizes the correlation equipment general design procedure and the main points.The paper finally proposes some reconsidering and forecast to universal design, and some rationalization proposals to our universal system establishment.
