Landing gear, one of the pivotal parts of aircraft, is burdened with huge load under complicated loading circumstances. So it's very important to do strength calculation and stress analysis effectively when a new landing gear is designed.With the development of CAE technology, computer emulation, due to its feasibility, credibility and high efficiency, has been increasingly applied to modern mechanical design. Using APDL (ANSYS Parametric Design Language), the parametric three-dimensional FEA modeling and stress analysis have been carried out for the shock strut of aircraft's main landing gear .When studying the establishment way of the restraint condition of shock strut as well as the simplification and application method of the ground load, the stress distribution for whole shock strut has been obtained in four work instances. Furthermore, at some positions of the shock strut, the numerical simulation results of these places are compared respectively with the results calculated by classical mechanics theory and the experiment results, and definitely the simulation results are validated. At the same time, making best use of the feature of APDL's high efficiency and basing on comparison of these results with original ones, some suggestions are proposed to modify original structural design of shock strut, and gain satisfying results.
