With the increasingly development of Chinese civil aviation market and the continuous opening-up of aviation authority, the domestic and international airlines will take the good opportunities for further development, which will undoubtedly bring wider development space for airport industry, as well as a challenge to the airport capability. The gate is one of key resources of airport operation. The dispatching of material and personnel heavily depends on the gate reassignment, therefore the gate reassignment contributes a lot to operational efficiency of airport and airlines. So it is great significant for research on the optimization of the gate reassignment. This thesis focused on the following contents, firstly, it summarized the results of research on the national and international research productions on gate assignment, and discussed on the problems about the gate assignment modeling and their solutions. Secondly, the thesis built the gate reassignment model. This model set the target function to be shortest total distance that passengers and airport worker moved, and introduced restrictions on the match of gate and airplane type. Thirdly, it designed GA about the gate reassignment, which was proven by the actual situation to be capable of finding better solutions than the assignment project actually used by airport in certain iterations.
