Flight Operational Quality Evaluation System Based On Flight Data Mart

Along with the increasing awareness of importance for in-flight recording information, Flight data are now extensively used in Flight Operation Quality Assurance, failure diagnosis, and other routine work in civil aviation companies. For the purpose of convenience to help these companies efficiently integrate flight data and make full use of it, the flight data mart (FDM) is built, and on the base of analytic environment provided by it, the Flight Operational Qualtiy Evaluation System (FOQES) is finally developed.With the use of customized ETL tool, flight data in QAR and other DBMS are automatically extracted, transformed, loaded into Flight Data Mart, which thereby provided a systematic environment for flight data analysis. AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) is introduced to design an evaluation model, which aims to make operational quality evaluation more comprehensive and more reasonable. In order to get maximal flexibility to customize these evaluation standards, FOQES provides civil aviation companies with the web-based user interfaces for evaluation model administration. The whole sysem is developed with Java EE distributed technologies, which enable all remote users to manage FDM and take flight operational evaluation in web browse.This thesis focuses on the Architecture Design of Flight Data Mart and software implementation of ETL tool, evaluation standards in detail. Some Java EE technologies and parts of these standards are also introduced necessarily. At the end of the thesis, one evaluation instance is given, which illustrates how to take advantage of mass raw data recorded by QAR and help these pilots to find and overcome some technical problems.
