The fierce competition has placed more and more strict demands and standards on products design and development. While in the process of new products development, the greatest problems that designers face are how to meet consumers'demands and preference, how to get conceptional design proposes effectively and how to transfer the design experience to others. Therefore, case-oriented of digital camera, the object of this thesis is to find out a design analyzing method for serving forepart work of new prodect design and development.The study integrates Grey Theory and Hierarchical Clustering Methods under the frame work of Kansei Engineering, and applies them to design analysis on the bases of associating consumers'needs with real products by kansei image and the Grey Relational Analysis.The basic theories, research methods & steps and operation process are expounded in the thesis. Main contents include utilizing Hierarchical Clustering Methods to group the consumer demands, designing questionnaire and responses callback, transforming the evaluation to fuzzy numbers, establishing the matrix about consumer demands and real products, and finding out the result through Grey Relational Analysis for the further design analysis.
