Studies On Landscape Ecological Planning And Design About Urban Waterfront

Urban waterfront district is an important resource for urban development. It is of greatimportance and value in improving the quality of the urban environment, enrichingthe urban landscape and promoting urban socio-economic development, etc.... Inrecent years, the unique status of urban waterfront district is receiving people'sgeneral concern. The movements of development and re-development aboutwaterfront have started world-wide. The development and construction of urbanwaterfront in our country is on the first step. Due to short construction cycle or lack ofa reasonable and effective plan and guidance, many projects of waterfrontdevelopment come out a serious of problems. On the basis of proving urbanwaterfront landscape and its ecological planning and design, this study raises targetedproposals of urban waterfront development and construction about our country, andtake the Xiangjiang's west bank of Changsha City's section as an example, proceedthe empirical analysis of the urban waterfront development and construction. Themain results are as follows:1. Urban waterfront landscape has duality of natural and social environment;accordingly urban waterfront landscape has the three types of natural landscape,artificial landscape and cultural landscape.2. The urban waterfront landscape ecological planning and design should follow thenine principles, ensure the three major objectives, proceed progressively according tourban waterfront landscape ecological planning and design process composed by eightlinks.3. Currently the main problems existed in China's urban waterfront development andconstruction are: the natural ecological environment has been damaged; the maindecision-making is single, the awareness of public participation is poor; thedevelopment model is blind; the specific design is lack of traditional continuation,public space is not continuous, the hydrophilic space's design is backward.4. The further proposals of the urban waterfront development: in the planningthinking, we must understand the backgrounds and objectives of our urban waterfront development and construction objectively, implement waterfront complexdevelopment model, plan overall, develop and manage urban waterfront standardized,emphasize public participation; in the specific designing, we must design ecologicallywith environmental, display waterfront landscape's features by creating richwaterfront space and making full use of the historical cultural landscape resources,and make it be a humane public place for people.5. Take the Xiangjiang's west bank of Changsha City's section as an example,analyze its status and the problems, put forward rehabilitation programs, in order touse theory to practice, then test theory through practice.
