Connecting Rod is one of components which endure the heaviest load in Diesel Engine, and its strength is always of the most important problem in designing. Now, only the statics analysis of Connecting Rod is made usually. However, as a moving component, the load of Connecting Rod periodically changed in the worked cycle. The statical analysis can't satisfy the requirement of its engineers. Therefore, the dynamical response analysis must be done for further research of the stress distribution of Connecting Rod.Confirming the interference force is the key problem while analyzing the dynamical response of structures. Instead of using the two-mass substitution method in the single-cylinder dynamics computing of general diesel engine. On the basis of 16V240ZJ Diesel Engine Connecting Rod and using the rotational inertia theory proposed in the literature and write the program, the inertial force is determined within one working cycle while crankshafts rotate per 1 degree. And then take the inertial force and the gas pressure which is provided by factory together as the external loads, simulate the actual work condition, the dynamical response of connecting rod is computed by using the software I-DEAS.Restriction is a much more difficult problem for the dynamic response analysis of the connecting rod. There has not been a good solution by now. Therefore, a bold attempt is taken in this article to discuss the main nodes' displacement and stress of connecting rod big-end and small-end inner hole under the three instances below: restrictions added at the big-end, middle part and small-end of connecting rod. During the process of the connecting rod cyclic movement, loads and restrictions are all constantly changing. The dynamic stress and displacement of connecting rod vary with the different positions of restrictions. The comparison of the results on the dynamic displacement computed and the static analysis, which proves it necessary to analyze the connecting rod dynamic response.
