At the same time ,we must make the needs of the users of thecampus our starting point; to satisfy their requirements of the user's behavior andpsychological needs. Thus, we must create a campus plant landscape with the culturalcharacteristics of colleges and universities. Consequently, the design of sustainableplant landscape on campus contains landscape knowledge including the fields of art,culture, ecology, science and behavior ,psychology and even contains deeper andwider meanings.This paper puts forward the principles of functionality, cultural, scientificy,economical efficiency, artistry for campus plant landscape design through analyzingthe natural factors. Human beings and social factors which affect it. According tomany surveys and analysis on the plant landscapes and its use states in most collegesand universities, this paper also puts forward and discuss some measures and modelsfor campus plant landscape design. The types of plant space suitable for colleges anduniversities campus are: open plant space, half-open plant space, covered plant spaceand sealed plant space; The forms of plant landscapes suitable for universities campus are: wide grass plot, small woods, grove, forest belt, etc; The areas ofuniversity campus are: front door area, teaching and scientific research area, studentslearn utility area, campus roads and so on Different areas with different functionshave different requirements for plant landscape. So the design of each area should bevarious according to its different functions.Colleges and universities are places for education, scientific research, andextemal exchange.
