Research On Tank Artillery Network Teaching System Based On VRML

As CAI combined with the network technique, it has accelerated the naissance of thedistance education. The development of VRML has stemed the application ofthree-dimensional interactive technique in the network education.The aim of this paper is using the combination of the VRML and network technique todevelop a network-aided instruction training system of tank artillery.At first, the paper reviews the development of the VRML and CAI technique. VRMLtechnique, which greatly promoted the development of CAI can make three-dimensionalinteractive technique and suit for network transmission.It discusses the modeling method and realization of the virtual tank model. It gives fullplay of the parameterization modeling based the characteristics in SolidWorks, and designsthe accessories and uses assemble design tools to build tank model. The VRML files aretransformed to vrm197 by 3DS MAX in order to suit for the browser display.Then, it sets forth the application of VRML in the design of tank artillary networkteaching system. A realistic scene and suspended menu was set up to control the tank roamingin the scene.Using edit tool of VrmlPad, it defines node point of Script, compiles scenarios programin the vrm197 files, controlling the linear motion, rotation motion and complex motion in thevirtual operation practice of tank artillery.In order to incarnate the direct-vision of multimedia networked instruction, it has usedavi video before each operation, which not only increased the content of network instructionand instruction form but also achieved the intention of guiding operation. Using flash, it hasdesigned the controlling demonstration cartoon of launching circuitry of tank artillery, andusing 3DS MAX, it has designed the simulation demonstration avi files of every kind ofoperation and artillery launching.Lastly, combining many network technologies, using IIS5.0, it constitute Web site on thelocal computer and produce instruction html page in Dreamweaver.Indicated from the research that combining the soflwares of VRML and 3DS MAX etc,we can exploit economical practical land effective virtual operation training system, which hasexpansive application prospect in the military equipment training.
