With the development of computer technique, especially Virtual Reality-VR technique, design and tests on driving system has great leap in terms of concept and method. Design and test on power units like gas turbines by establishment of virtual prototyping is the trend of development in the future. At present, industrial units both abroad and at home are making great efforts to bring change to the traditional design method, i.e. design based on engineering drawing, and has proposed and adopted gradually new ideas of design without paper drawing but based on digital virtual prototype, etc.. Chinese Navy has greatly promoted its equipment during recent several years with the method like research and development by itself and importation of advanced techniques from abroad; however, and generally speaking, the traditional design method and management mode based on reference material and files like drawings and cards hasn't been changed. Regarding the above problems, the article herein has established virtual prototype of large scale and complex mechanism structures like the gas turbine for marine purpose based on sufficient investigations on gas turbine itself and relevant virtual reality technique, and assembling, disassembling of components virtually on the digital prototype, view from random viewing angle, assembling rationalization checks and measurement on critical dimensions, etc., could be realized and operated in an alternant way. What's more, at the end, the article has successfully developed alternant operation software of gas turbine three-dimensional entitative model and software on remote training on data management and gas turbine. 1. Research and application of relevant virtual reality technique and gas turbine The system is involved in an extensive technique field, and the article herein mainly gives brief introduction to gas turbine and principle of virtual reality technique and makes investigations on its application. Gas turbine is a piece of equipment, which transverses thermo energy into mechanic energy. Air compressed by compressor enters combustion chamber and gets burned after mixing with fogged fuel, and gas of high temperature and high pressure formed will then gets into the turbine section and power turbine section to do work via expansion, and the work done by turbine drives the compressor, while that done by the power turbine will drive on loading via output axle. Fluid mechanics is a branch of mechanics, which mainly investigates and researches on fluid condition under various kinds of forces and mutual affects between fluid and solid wall surface, fluid and fluid and fluid and other movement conditions. Aerodynamics is a subject mainly investigates on law of movement of air or other gases, and mutual affect between gas and other objects during relative movement and physical and chemical changes happened accompanying the movement, which is a branch of fluid mechanics. Aerodynamics is a subject formed with the development of aviation and cosmonautics technique. CAX(CAD/CAM/CAE/CAT)/PDM refers to "computer aided design/ manufacturing/engineering/test/product data management", which is a new technique emerged during the recent tens several years with the successive development of high speed computer, theory of mechanic design and contemporary testing technique and the developing trend of machines towards faster, heavier loading, higher efficiency and lighter structures. Virtual reality technique, also named intelligent environment technique has been paid a lot of attention by scientific world and engineering world during the 90's. The specialty of the technique is that, computer generates a kind of artificial virtual environment, which is actually a three dimensional space formed through computer graphs or a kind of virtual environment formed by compiling real environment into the computer, so that the customer could have a feeling of encountering with a virtual environment from the aspect of viewing. 2. Hypostatic model of gas turbine Establishment of hypostatic model of gas turbine is the first step of digitalization of virtual gas turbine, and it's also the base of alternant operation of three-dimensional models. Since gas turbine has a complex structure with many components and parts inside, for the establishment of the hypostatic model, first of all, a CAD platform of outstanding performance should be chosen, and entire structure of the system should be planed rationally, and taking into consideration of reusability of the model in successive researches, finally, I-DEAS software was chosen for the establishment of CAD platform for building of hypostatic model after scaling from all sides. Hiberarchy model was adopted for management of engineering drawings of all components via manual classification while connection structure was adopted to establish information base of components to realize computerized management. Reply the question of spending to the model, the modeling scheme that this literary grace uses: Link the organization etc. to the part in common use and non-key spare part such as the standard component , peripheral hardware, for person who reduces data , improve modeling speed it adopts to be only for demonstrating frame model of line; To the key spare part, for instance: Flame tube , turbine one -two move leaf,etc. CAE analyse is it adopt finite element consult model to need after considering. And part consider is it use for structure analyse and interfere the assembly model checked to adopt to interfere need peripheral pipeline. Secondly, gas turbine for marine has complex structure with many components and parts, and it's a lot of work for developing and building three-dimensional models for all components, however, there is a certain regulation could be followed. Most of the components of the gas turbine are made up of several typical structures, and the article herein establishes different way of building models for different types in a fast way, so that model building for gas turbine of the specific type is enhanced greatly. 3. Research and realization on alternant operation of complex three-dimensional models in VRML scene. Alternant operation of three dimensional model is an important function of the system.
