Rockfill dam with concrete is one of the most important hydro-structure. It is universallyaccepted one kind of the quite economical suitable dam by the world, and it receive thewidespread attention of its multitudinous merits. Specially in the recent 30 years it developsvery quickly and broadly used, and gradually becomes the strong competitive power and theprospects for the development of the dam. Since 1975, our country conducted the research andthe practice work in the Rockfill dam with concrete domain, and obtain some certain projectexperience, take the Northwest Rockfill dam with concrete for example.The key problem with the Rockfill dam with concrete is the deformation of the dam andthe damage of the gap and fracture of the plate as following, and causing the leak of the dam.Therefore, the deformation of the dam become the core problem in the design of the dam. Inthis article, around the design problem of the Rockfill dam with concrete, with the high steepslope rockfill dam project at Sichuan Xu Qu river, using the ANSYS software, systemlyanalysis the deformation and stress of the Rockfill dam with concrete across the process of themodel construction and the calculation results in detailed. Content as following:1. First, introduce the tradition calculation method and the stress-strain relationship ofdifferent material that using in the calculation of the Rockfill dam with concrete, instructthe difference of the calculation results by using the different calculation method and thestress-strain relationship of different material in detailed. With the reality project of theXuQu river, select the ShenZhu-jiang calculation as the rockfill materials model, and usethe elastic boundary condition simulate the rock bondage of the dam. Introduce thestress-strain relationship of concrete and the calculation model of sealing rod betweenconcrete plate, and solution procedure of the nonlinear equation and the criterion of theconvergence.2. Across the calculation model of the Rock_fill dam with concrete at XuQu river, apply 3Dnonlinear finite element method analysis the stress and strain of the dam under theconstruction period,water storage period and the completion period condition, and get thegeneral feature of the different cross-section at different position under differentconditions. Make a conclusion of the stress and strain regularity of the high steep sloperockfill dam. Provide the reference for the study of the high steep slope rockill dam. Results indicate that the stress and strain satisfy the design require, and give someconstruction suggestion for the dam at last.
