As a new researching product, the novel two-stroke cycle micro free-piston swing engine (MFPSE), its research refers to internal combustion engine theory, combustion, hydromechanics, engineering thermodynamics, heat transfer theory, stand-fire material, mechanical design, and control engineer and so on. Many works have to be done on process of designing the new product. Vibration will exercise a pernicious influence on micro internal combustion swing engine. It is necessary to study vibration characteristics of the novel two-stroke cycle micro free-piston swing engine (MFPSE) further.This paper consists of three parts. The first part is about the theory of vibration and analysis methods. In this part, the most important work is how to establish differential equation. At first, the theory of establishing theoretical model is introduced. Secondly, the paper analyzes and solves the model of vibration which has only one-degree of freedom, and builds oscillatory differential equation of engine to establish the theoretical foundation for the subsequent research. On the second part, the FEA model of the swing is established by use of ANSYS soft. Then boundary condition and rotate speed is given. The natural frequency and the low-order mode of vibration figures is obtained. On the third part, the paper analyzes the vibration characteristics of the swing and the cylinder. On the base of theory of vibration, the paper establishes the entity model of the swing and the cylinder. Then, set the parameters, and calculate variety of the pressure with time in various work process through MATLAB soft. At last, the paper analyzes free vibration and forced vibration of the entity model under given vibration actuator with ADAMS/Vibration. In the end, the paper obtains and analyzes the each order mode of vibration, the curve of frequency response and the modal coordinate figures. The result certified that the vibration of the swing and the cylinder to meet the requirements.During the process of designing product, design periods and the costs can be reduced if design of components and parts is associated with analysis technique-establish the model, emulation analysis and predict product performance on computer. So this paper is important to design the whole structure and improve performance of the novel two-stroke cycle micro free-piston swing engine (MFPSE).
