Due to its simple construction, low cost and high efficiency in the broad range of speed, switched reluctance motor drive system has become the powerful competitor against the traditional AC and DC drive systems. But the strong nonlinear electromagnetic characteristic of switched reluctance motor increases its control difficulty, and satisfying results can't be easily obtained with conventional methods. So the study of intelligent control strategies for switched reluctance motor drive system is focused in the field of switched reluctance motors in recent years. Based on a thorough analysis of switched reluctance motor drive system materials of home and abroad.This paper applies fuzzy logic control to switched reluctance motor drive system, and compares the performance of switched reluctance motor drive system with traditional PI control. The intelligent control of switched reluctance motor drive system has come true by using DSP control chip on the simulated foundation.This article introduces the development and research situation of switched reluctance motor drive system briefly, and then gives a detailed description about basic structure,working principle and features of switched reluctance motor drive system. On the basis of study on switched reluctance motor drive system's basic theories, traditional PI control is applied to the switched reluctance motor drive system, its principles are simple,adaptability and robust is strong, and the corresponding parameters are optimized to achieve the better control effect. However, because of the inherent limitation of PI control, its application is restricted. In many intelligent control strategies, fuzzy control system have strong knowledge representation and reasoning ability, and do not require a high accuracy of models, which is very suitable for switched reluctance motor drive system. Therefore this article has emphatically studied on the application of fuzzy logic control in the switched reluctance motor drive system. On this basis, three-phase(6/4 pole) dynamic simulation model of switched reluctance motor drive system has been established, and the simulation result of fuzzy PI control has been compared with traditional PI control and fuzzy control, the conclusion is that switched reluctance motor drive system with fuzzy PI control which Adaptability is stronger,stability is better, control accuracy,speed and torque characteristics are more satisfying.Finally, by the analysis of switched reluctance motor's basic structure,running and control characteristics, compared with usual control methods, take DSP controller as core to compose velocity modulation control system. This system take TI corporation's TMS320LF2407 chip as the control core, when the low speed uses current chopping control, when the high speed uses voltage PWM control. The internal resources of DSP have greatly reduced the external circuit components which control system required for. The design of power converter follows the fundamental of matched structure,high efficiency and convenient control, by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of many kinds of power converters, a plan of the least main switch device has been adopted, which has low design cost, simple control, security and reliability. System software is designed by modular programming, thereby increasing the readability and making it easy to operate.
