ISAD namely is Integrated Starter Alternator Damper, which is a new device applying in vehicle equipment recent years. The ISAD system in vehicle has performances including engine cranking, engine boost, regenerating braking, engine or driveline damping , and provides a more efficient power and higher torque output platform. Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM) is the outgrowth with the combination of electric machinery theories, modern power electronics technique and advanced microprocessor control technique, it applies in the ISAD system of the vehicle and became a strong candidate as the motor of ISAD, because of its prominent merits, such as simpler and firmer stricture, lower cost, high-fault function, high energy density, abilities of enduring high temperature and producing high torque when speed is lower, especially four-quadrant operation.In this paper, we put forward aimed at six phases 12/10 SRM by experimental findings. Based on the basic structure and operation principle of SRM, we study the mathematic model and control methods of SRM in order to research control strategy of SRM. At the same time, dynamic linear simulation model of switched reluctance drives is constructed. Based on the model, the SRM parameters in current chopping control and angular position control are calculated respectively with this simulation.This paper mainly discusses the application of switched reluctance machine in the ISAD system of vehicle. According to the functions and characteristics of ISAD, we construct control strategies of SRM, and give the simulations under different working modes of ISAD in order to get best on-off angle. Meanwhile, the paper presents a novel method in active damping of the engine idle speed oscillation using SRM as a supplemental torque source. The validity of control strategies is proved through experiments by hardware test stand which core is DSP and CPLD.Otherwise, the paper analyses the hotspot of torque ripple of SRM. We adopt torque ripple coefficient in order to get best on-off angle with minimizing the torque ripple, use auto-adjust strategies of SRM parameters to reduce torque ripple. This establishes a good foundation for further research.
