The handling and ride are the important dynamics performances of vehicle. And these performances are the key performances in the vehicle design process. The virtual prototyping is an importance approach to reduce the cost of real prototyping design and manufacture and to improve the design level and manufacture quality, which is a key technology of the vehicle corporation. In the thesis, the corresponding dynamic simulation system is developed based on the redevelopment of the ADAMS software. The system has three functions, automatic parametric modeling, automatic simulation according to national experimentation standard, and post-process of the results in accord with the motor evaluation standard. Many details have been considered and different parameters can be demonstrated in the model . The detailed geometric structural parameters of the front and rear suspensions, steering system etc . are considered. According to the real connection of parts, the leaf-springs are modeled as beam elements, which can fully reflect their nonlinear characteristic. Considered their nonlinear characteristic , the damper and rubber bushing are built as nonlinear filed elements by the experiments. Accordingly, it is only the structure parameter of the automobiles and the corresponding performance parameter that the automobile designers face. So designers could spend lilttle energy in modeling, simulation and getting the performance parameter, which can enhance the automobile design efficiency and reduce the automobile design cost. Based on the national standards, we simulate the vehicle dynamics performance about handling and ride in our system . According the dynamics simulation results, the handling and ride performances of vehicle are evaluated. At the same time, the parameter of the steering system is optimized in this thesis, and the results of the vehicle experiments have proved the validation of the optimized result.
