In recent years, the technology of substation automatization has made great progress. But it doen't include the function of condition monitoring which could reflect the health of electrical equipments, so it couldn't realize the true unmanned substation. Circuit breakers are liable to faults because it operates frequently in electric and mechanism. And what is the most important of it is the on-line mornitoring of high voltage circuit breaker. Under the background of the on-line mornitoring of electrical equipments, in this thesis we have designed a framework for on-line condition monitoring device for high voltage circuit breaker of substation and have resolved some very important problem.The main work of the thesis is the realization of the device for on-line condition moniroring of high voltage circuit breaker. Having choosen the famework and function of the device, its cost performance is very well.It is very suitable for small power station.At the same time we can also use it in a large power station by extending.It also can be used to monitor others device in the power station in the future. The device can monitor and analyze mechanical characteristics,electrical endurance,states of secondary operation circuit of breakers.The core module are based on the DSP+CPLD mode, including three modules used for data collection and other used for data management. We used the CPLD to extend the peripherals and to control them.So it has a high integration. The three core modules used for data collection can work synchronously and take record of the abnormity by the help of the module used for data management. The three core modules used for data adjust its clock by outside GPS.We have designed and madea a simple and applied circuit used for transmitting the 4~20mA current and isolating the disturbance.The port is unified by it, so we can also use it to monitor the other equipments in the power staition by changing the frontal intelligent sensors. And no needs the isolating electrical source.Because there is no intelligent sensor for measuring the temperature, we design a special circuit for it. We have tried on its linearity and effect of its isolation.On the paper we have done some research in improving the on-line monitoring. Use the least square method to evaluate the electrical endurance of breaker. To monitor the mechanical performance of breaker through electrical signals, we have used the wavelets. So we can monitor the movement of the breaker and acquire the time of the electrical arc burning.
